In Victorian floriography, it was offered to the kindhearted—to souls who carry warmth like a lantern through the world. White jasmine, especially, stood for resilience that never hardens: a quiet strength, fragrant and soft, like moonlight in bloom.

In Sicilian lore, jasmine was the flower of travelers. Sailors would tuck dried blossoms into their satchels, believing that the scent would guide them home no matter how far the sea carried them. To plant jasmine by the door was to anchor the heart—to say, “This is where love lives.”
