Red Rose — “I Choose You, With All My Heart”
 (Courage · Passionate Love)
In the language of flowers, the red rose — is not loud, but certain. It doesn’t shout love — it declares it. One bloom, one heart, one choice.
In Victorian floriography, the red rose symbolized a deep, unmistakable love—the kind that is bold, unwavering, and impossible to confuse. It is the emblem of passion in full bloom.
In Greek folklore, a tale lingers where Cupid, the deity of love, bent to kiss a blooming rose. But a bee, hidden within its petals, stung his lip. In her fury, Venus laced the flower with thorns—so that none would touch it unaware. From then on, the rose bore wounds of warning: the path of love comes wrapped in thorns. Its beauty asks not only for admiration, but for blood, for patience, for devotion.
From the East, the Persian mystic Attar of Nishapur gave us the sorrowful legend of the nightingale and the rose. The nightingale fell in love with a white rose—circling it, singing to it, watching in awe. One day, overcome by longing, it pressed itself to the flower—and the thorns pierced its heart. As the bird bled, its love stained the petals red.
So it is that love, however brief, leaves its mark. It changes you. Like lovers—romantic or platonic—who begin to share each other’s laughter, habits, and phrases. What you love will etch itself into you, flow through your bloodstream, and whisper in your silences. Such is the price one pays for love.
May this bloom remind you of a love that left its mark—soft, searing, and forever yours.
