Sago Flower: The One That Lasts
Description
Native to Australia, Ozothamnus diosmifolius, also known as Sago Flower or Immortelle, has something rather special about it. Most flowers change as they dry. Their petals curl, their colours fade, and they slowly lose the appearance they once had. But Ozothamnus is different. Its tiny blooms can retain their original shape and beauty long after they have dried.
It reminds me of those special friendships where you can go weeks, months, or even years without talking, yet the moment you meet again, it feels as though no time has passed at all. You pick up right where you left off, with the same warmth, laughter, and understanding.
These are some of the most precious connections we have. They don't need constant conversations or attention to remain strong. Life moves on, circumstances change, and distances grow, but the bond stays just as dear.
I've preserved these little flowers inside a heart as a reminder of such connections, the kind that time and distance cannot easily change.
Gift it to someone as a little promise, or simply a wish, that no matter how much time passes between you, you will always find your way back to the same friendship, love, and warmth.
For someone you can always pick up right where you left off.
